Hello, I am trying to sort some of my Israeli coins by currency type and I am not sure of the "timestamps" of the currencies. I am just looking for the 1949-date currencies and when certain monetary reforms happened.
I've looked at Numista,Wikipedia, and my big ol Krause but they don't all have consistent years showing how long a certain Israeli currency lasted, If anyone knows the correct date ranges for the various currencies, would be greatly appreciated.

To my recollection,

Israeli currencies were:

1948 to 1952

Use British issued currency

1000 mils (later on known as Prutah) to 1 Palestine Pound

1952-1960

In 1954, Israel stopped tying its pound to British pound's value

1000 Prutot equals 1 Israeli pound

1960 to 1980

100 agorot to 1 Israeli pound

Inflation caused Israeli pound to lose its value, 10 Israeli pounds to 1 shekel

1980 to 1986

100 agorot to 1 shekel

Inflation caused old shekels to lose its value, 1000 old shekels to 1 new shekel

1985 to present

100 arogot to 1 shekel

Hope this helps you?
