Please take a look and comment as you wish, but I am interested to learn if there is a remnant of a D abutting the 7 in 1970? What are the pick up points of this type of MM issue?

That looks like a struck thru error. Not a D/S

Definitely not a D/S as it looks to be incuse. Don't agree with coin dude's assessment either though. My guess would be PMD caused by a drop of a corrosive liquid landing on the surface of the coin and etching a small circle.

I am by far one of the lesser members when it comes to stuff like this. But I don't see it. I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Could someone please point out what I'm missing?

Chafemasterj- took me a minute to see what was being talked about myself. But I think the mark in question is the crescent-shaped mark above the MM and directly to the right of the 9.

To me it looks like there may have been something on the coin, or still is. You can see the discoloration on the full pic. Its not an RPM and no premium .

There's something there - looks round but no idea what. In hand you won't even see it.

Thank you for the really nice images.

And the perimeter of the circle that is touching the 9 (not the 7) looks to be incuse, so it is some type of PMD. I don't think a drop of acid could get that small.
