OK, totally baffled. Have a 1997 5 Peso Philippines piece. Designer initials under the shoulder indicate it was minted at BSP but there is also (apparently) a mint mark. Am danged if I can see it. Can some kind soul point out where and what it is? Thanks

Some 1997 coins were struck in Canada and therefore didn't have the mint mark.

Never mind. I just studied more and saw that Numista and Krause say the Canadian mint didn't include the engravers initial.

I think that mark is the only mark. I'm not sure if it is the mint mark or a combination of the mint mark and the initials.

@bjherbison - Thanks. I suspect that's the case and bad wording as I would not usually say the designers initials are a mint mark.
