Happy New Year Everyone!!

Just before X-mas I received 3 sealed sets of Israel Hanukkah coins (1987, 1988 and 1989). Was happily entering them in Numista when I noticed that there was no 1/2 shekel issued for the Hanukkah coins in 1989. I checked the date and it seems to be 1990. How does a 1990 coin end up in a 1989 sealed set? Time travelling? Should I be checking the dates on all the coins?

Thanks

@david, when you say that the sets are sealed, can you clarify whether these are official mint sets with the red background or something assembled in the aftermarket? Maybe add a couple pics to this thread to help us?

Hi Spence,

Thanks for the response. They were in a sealed hard plastic case. Numista lists 2 1990 Hanukkah half shekels however one has a 5750 BCE and the other a 5751 BCE. The cardboard coin holder inside the plastic said 5750.

I don't have the original cardboard insert but can take a pic of the coin if needed. Please let me know.

Weell, what determines de date is the coin, not the cardboard, so yes if you want to confirm the date.
