attached is a 1957D common Wheat cent.

i was not sure whether I have an off center strike coin - or if it is simply a previously encased jewelry coin.

after creating the photos and looking at the coin - it occures to me that there are no missing devices. thus I am leaning toward an Encased Coin.

i realize that even if it is an off center strike - it is minor - an not valuable.

thank you for your opinions.

When you find Encased Cents that are in the holder, leave them in the holder. They have some value. When they are removed, then they become just a damaged coin.

The damage happens to the coin when they are pressed into the holder. Removing the coin from the hold just shows the damage to the coin.
