Hi everyone, I am totally unsure as to the identification of this coin, which I believe to be from South Asia. The obverse appears to have a rampant lion (or similar animal) advancing left. And the Reverse has text in Nastaliq script. It is 20mm and 11g.

Is this in fact a medieval or early modern coin of India? Or could it even be a hammer-struck coin from an Indian princely state?
Thanks!

Hi Archraz,

I have one of these, it's a 19th century hammered princely states coin.

chrsmat71 - Great! Thank you for your help. I did suspect that it might have been a princely state coin.
