Had the opportunity for pecking through a part time dealers misplaced red box of better dates. These examples caught my eye as original looking. Seeing possible VG8 in one maybe 2, thoughts on condition/grade welcome.

Please break these up and show just one or two coins per thread. Replies get confused otherwise.

Great selections!

1896-O = VG-08. Nice circulation cameo.

1897-O = VG-08. The scratch is old enough and has toned over. I think it straight grades. The mottled appearance of the obverse could be the pic, but also could be something to ponder. This is the only "iffy" coin in the batch.

1893-S = VG-10, and not too far from F-12.

1914-S = G-06.

Aha Coop!circulation strike with old cameo...that's what that black tone is. My novest skill with Barbers filed these under the "just different/sharper than others cranium section". Have run into 2 other VG's like this that literally snap right out at you - both in late 1890's. I still have 1st crack at all Barber quarters in a former dealers box but its getting tricky now. He has everything from G6-AU in same box and prices, grades, originals, and cleaned are all mixed and all over the map. Nobody here is showing much interest in Barbers, all want silver silver silver so using caution but still timidly pecking on his old passovers box.
Will make a post on a 1914 P VF I bought today for $22.00. I blurted out to him VF30, he called it VF20just missing 25 due to wing tips. See my new 1914 P grade it post.
