This came in a group lot of 20 assorted ancients
I have puzzled over it for two days now !
My older (and wiser !) brother came up with Stratonikeia
The portrait seems to match one I spied on wildwinds but nothing for the reverse
It seems a bit of a stretch that it could be unique
So perhaps someone might have a better idea ?
Caracalla-Mystery-Coin---Stratonikeia-?
The portrait style is too similar
so it seems very likely a Caracalla of Stratonikeia
Caracalla-Mystery-Coin---Stratonikeia-?
Artemis Ephesia ?

Same coin?

That's a neat boustrophedon legend! I wonder why they did that.

That indeed is the exact same coin
Perhaps it is actually an unique type ?
I suppose that might help explain the fruitless hours searching for it
Many thanks
