PT - I don't think Mantell was alone. Stuffing birds for museums was 'de rigueur' among ornithologists for the time. Apparently there is a leg from a Dodo in the British Museum with a card attached with words to the effect "If specimen becomes too worn, order another one to be collected and sent". Similar to the demise of the Galapagos tortoises. In all probability quite a few would have been hauled aboard the Beagle for future consumption at sea. Oriele - Obsession? OK, I won't argue that one. Ryurazu - I will have to kill you if you noodle a wavy before me! Sounds like the noodling competition is on!!

Another 600 20c pieces through the noodling mill. The two NCLT coins were a nice find. Hopefully I'll get one more batch noodled before mortgage payment time. Total 20c coins noodled = 7540 Total no. of 1966 coins = 118
Number of wavy coins = 0

Don't forget to see if there is a dot above the R in Australia. Very hard to find
Never sure if this was a die variety or error. What's the consensus? Will keep an eye out though.

Thanks Steve although I may have already used it for May. Was entering a bunch of coins from a bulk lot I sorted into country a few months ago. 50 odd 5 francs, noticed a 1960 coin that was earlier than the normal 5 Francs from the 70s. It was silver!

Didn't find many ATO coins for ages now they're coming out of the proverbial orifice.

My weekly batch of 500. A bit lack lustre but the 2004 big head made it worthwhile. Haven't had one in ages. 2001 state coins absent and most surprisingly, no feathered friends from across the ocean. Total 20c coins noodled = 8540 Total no. of 1966 coins = 129
Number of wavy coins = 0

This weeks haul. The states are always welcome and a 2nd 2004 big head in a row! Not to forget a poor knocked around Kiwi. Concerning though is I usually average 8-10 1966 coins each 500. The last 2 batches have only seen 5! Hopefully will improve next time. Total 20c coins noodled = 9040 Total no. of 1966 coins = 134
Number of wavy coins = 0

Another batch of 500. Glad the number of '66 coins has increased again. At 3 a week it would take a decade to get to the estimated 800-1000. Always like the changeover coins. I guess my feathered friends are acting as good luck charms. Not so happy with the 4 10c pieces. Why do I never find higher denomination coins mixed in? Nope, always lower. Total 20c coins noodled = 9540 Total no. of 1966 coins = 141
Number of wavy coins = 0

David, looks like you got ripped off with that lot. You might have to start a pile to send back to PrinceTane. LOL.
It still amazes me at the number of Canberra coins you find. I very rarely see them over here.
