Long version, pecking through a former dealers Barber quarters box. Already purchased any and all half acceptable examples AG3 -VG he had and that matched in my set (Im done except for the King 1901 S). Filling my set in low grades required enough book/stick time keep asking myself "where are all the F12's and VF's even for common dates?" and what is the deal with finding a half decent common date VG? More elementary questions than I can answer bare with me folks its a new series for me and I'm all in on these. I called this 1914 P a VF30, he says its VF20 due to Shield and wing tips. Looked original with luster in the star fields, he says obverse is a Whitman Holder rubbing/wipe and reverse was left alone. I have a crack at about 20 commons and better dates in VF and above, this is the average of the bunch. Ten o'clock tomorrow I decide yeah or nay, these $22.00 38.00 and 80 dollar commons rack up quick but the bay is 85% junk and truth be told wouldn't know a sleeper original if it slapped me in the face. I got bit by the Barber Bug. Night school is in session, let me have the brutal doctrine.

Id VF-25 to 30 myself, though 30 might be pushing it a little.

VF Details cleaned, those obverse swipes look like a cleaning rather than album rubbing. Album rubbing shouldn't carry into the fields like that and will only be noticeable on high points of the devices.

I'd put it at VF-25 but agree with the others in that it's a details coin due to cleaning

I'm afraid most of us agree it is VF Details cleaned . I posted last week that with Barber coinage because they were used so much in commerce that all you see is AG-VG or AU-UNC . It's a rarity to find them F-VF straight graded .

If the other coins are in the same condition, pass.

Thanks folks, I did pass on all of the 20 except 2 lower grade better dates that were mixed in with Seated Liberty quarters and caught my attention. Will post them when I get time, a G+ 1901 O and 1899 S that might squeak straight F12? both are somewhat issue coins so was able to purchase at discount.
