someone gave me this they sent me the first pic but when I got it it look like the 2nd pic he used salt and white vinegar I think maybe left it to long but how can I get it back to show everything again and when you feel it it feels like rust I wanted him to leave it the way it was but what can I do to make it better or fix it good enough to see or see real good

Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done to save it, the surface of the coin was obliterated by whatever cleaning method was used.

Regardless, even before the cleaning it was heavily corroded and not worth any more than 2 cents IMO

If you desire a 1936 Wheat cent in nice condition you can find them in low MS for only a couple bucks.

Wow, that cent is toast, unfortunately. Vinegar (acidic) did a number on it. No recovery.

I always say "save the salt and vinegar for the french fries"...and everything else in the kitchen cupboard for that matter

the only thing like salt and vinegar do is make your coins taste better...not look better lol

Yes unfortunately it was the friend that gave it to me that done it but gave it to me and I told him to leave it be dont do nothing to it

If he were to use just the vinegar it wouldn't have been so bad , but the salt mixed with the vinegar created what looks like when you put an Alka Seltzer tablet in a glass of water .
