I found three coins with the same die chip error on the reverse of the coin in the girl's hair but it was behind the barrette, not below it like I have seen (called error number #3). Does this error have a name and/or number? All three coins were from the same uncirculated OBW roll. Picture below (if I did it right!).

JC Stevens with Cuds On Coins is the only expert I know currently who will list any die chip errors, but he only lists those that are unusual, and the existing list is very small. The error is too common to list every single one.

Aagree with Shaney, with the only caveat that die chips aren't errors, since they don't occur as a result of any mistake in the production process. They are most accurately considered a die state, since chips are part of the natural life and deterioration of the die.

Shaney and Sam, UPDATE:now I'm up to 5 coins from that same roll with the same irregularity. What is it called if it's not a die chip? Is it a Cud even though all five seem very similar? I'll try to post pics of all five coins.

It is a die chip, I was just clarifying that die chips aren't errors under the typical numismatic definition used for error coins. A Cud is just a die chip on the rim of the die that extends into the fields or design (while a rim Cud is a chip that only affects the rim and nothing else). Cuds are typically more valuable than either die chips or rim Cuds. This would just be a die chip. No added value for one this small.

Thanks so much for the help! I ended up finding 12 coins in that one OBW roll with that same Cud in the same spot.

to the CCF!

The work Cud and die chip seem to be going back and forth in the comments for this post. The coin doesn't show a Cud, as Cuds involve the edge of the die breaking and falling off. This coin shows a die chip, which doesn't really make the level of "error" to most collectors and most don't make the coins more valuable.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!
