This is the notorious "cross" doubled die. Examples of this coin turn up from time to time on ebay, and that is where I acquired this one. It's another candidate for the Rajah of Rupees title.
Doubling in all fields of the obverse. Lots of daylight between the hubbings, which makes the doubling easily visible to the naked eye. Gotta love these dramatic Indian errors.
Here is an approximation I made of your coin, through hours of positioning and such, I have come to the conclusion that it is a combination of classes I, II, IV, and V doubling. So much went wrong on this die.
Thanks for putting so much effort into this. I've never heard of anything like that happening. I guess they keep the workers at that particular mint supplied with happy juice.
