Pulled this from a roll the other day. Sure looks like a double clip. Your thoughts?

I can't really tell one way or the other. Tough call, will be interested in what others say.

To me it looks like someone has deliberately tried to create a double clip.
You can see what appear to be file marks plus under the Y in Liberty and
the D in Dollar, the rims are wrong for a clip

I agree with jimmyD, uneven jagged edges, visible scrape marks and flattening, not a clip.

If the Reed Marks are on the deepest areas of the edge, it may have been altered. But the scraping screams altered coin. The ends of the affected areas should have a taper, which is also missing, not weakness on the devices on that area. Looks like a damaged coin to me.

Note the edges of the clipped area on the rim?

Can't really see someone altering it, then throwing it back into circulation. Maybe the rims were crushed be some type of equipment or machine.

I'll go out on a limb here and say; in hand it's legit.

Oh well, thanks for feedback gents!

Just for the grins of it, I might throw this one in with the next batch of ANACS "special offer" submissions. I'd like to see what shakes out.
