One of the CCF experts on older Islamic coins will wee this later and help out.

Being paper thin gives it a better chance of being authentic.

Your coin is in Fatimid style but it is an issue of the famous Ayyubid sultan Saladin as independent ruler 1174-1193, also citing the 'Abbasid caliph al-Nasir. Saladin's personal name Yusuf bin Ayyub is at center in the first photo. The mint is unclear but I'm leaning toward al-Qahira (Cairo). The date is illegible. Sharper photos might or might not help.

It hasn't been said yet, but yes, it is gold, and quite pure gold too.

Being a "coin of Saladin", it will be worth considerably more than its bullion value.

It is indeed al-Qahirah (Cairo). The date is AH 587 (AD 1191).

The legends translate as follows (more or less), reading from center outward.

O: Yusuf son of Ayyub / the high king the ultimate Salah al-Din / Muhammad is the apostle of Allah who sent him with guidance and the religion of truth that it might prevail over all religion (Qur'an 9:33).

R: the imam Ahmad / Abu'l-'Abbas al-Nasir li-Din Allah commander of the faithful, there is no God but Allah / in the name of Allah was struck this dinar of al-Qahirah in the year seven and eighty and five hundred.

Ahmad Abu'l-'Abbas al-Nasir li-Din Allah, cited on the reverse, is the 'Abbasid caliph, known more simply as al-Nasir.
