Just started a few weeks ago, have been trying to be very diligent and focusing in certain areas. I've come into a very wide range of US coins, any suggestions on organization and research tools or reputable dealers in northern Virginia would be helpful.
Thanks in advanced

to CCF. Organize them by date, mint, denomanation, condition. Then if you are into errors or varieties. Post your questions and good photos in the proper sections of this great forum and we will do our best to help you along. What is your intent with the hoard?

For now Making sure I know exactly what I have. We had some Indian princess graded gold coins that my young inexperienced(for lack of a better word) let loose on ebay at 99c with no reserve. Trying not to do anything like that again.

To CCF , '' Descent Into Madness '' Yes But Only If You Don't read and learn about the hobby . I you just dive into it without educating yourself you will be taken for a ride ( so to speak ) when you start buying coins . Familiarize yourself with the series and denominations that you like the most to collect .

Dealers in the greater Northern VA region--yes, there are many--particularly close-in to DC, including metro Maryland. Run a google map search for coin shops in the area. Good luck!
