Hey everyone, could use your expertise on this one. Is this just a normal 1944 five centavos coin? Is it worth. Holding onto? Thank you for any feed back

Best I can tell, it's a common well-circulated example of this coin worth no more than a buck in higher grades, and even less in this comdition.

Some of these came back from WWII with U.S. service members stationed in the Pacific theater.

It depends. If it came from a parent or grandparent who served in World War II, I would say yes.
I have a few of these from my dad, who brought them home from his serving in Asia. They have been in my collection for over 50 years.

Or, if you want to get your kids interested in world coins at some point, maybe still yes. World coins are a great way to learn geography. They can be part of school projects!

If you mean passing it along as part of an inheritance, nah...
