Another penny I found on my search today. Not really familiar w/ cracked dies. Would you consider this one & are they considered errors or damaged?

Hi,

I lightened your picture to check just what it was. This is not a cracked die. It is a lamination error. That means that a portion of the planchet is tending to peel. It is caused by a gas pocket or an impurity in the planchet.

It is an error but as errors go , it is quite common on cents of the 1940s.

Thanks,
Bill
