The picture is enlarged a lot. Can you also post one where the date is clearer? The same image with less enlargement would help.

That picture is a little better. It looks like the cent took a hit from something in circulation. Afraid its just PMD, and a spender.

it looks like damage, possibly from a roll crimper.
