Minor die chips. Just a die event.

This might be a match to one of the minor doubled dies in my collection, SDDR-002: http://crdievarieties.com/doku.php?...sc25csddr002

Yours would be a later die stage with more die chips/breaks than the examples I have but I think I see the strong die scratch coming off the neck in your full coin pic, so I may have gotten the die stages mixed up in my notes. I would like to see a closer pic of that area if you're able to.

Nearly all of the Fort Moultrie quarters I've seen have die cracks on the arm. Out of the five minor doubled dies I have, only one doesn't have a stage with a die crack there (yet). One has die chips/breaks on the ships as well.

Die crack lines up, yours has the same tiny die chip on the shoulder, and there is the same heavy abrasion through the braid. I'm pretty sure it's a match to my SDDR-002.

Can I just see one more pic? The area below the chin in front of the neck around the TY in LIBERTY. I want to see if the die scratches are visible there.

Perfect, thank you! Die scratch matches too. I think I got the die stage order right then. I'd call yours a Stage C for the new die chips on the bust and the ships.
