i found this in a roll not long ago and just wondered if anyone had any info on what is going on here

Given the photos posted, I'm seeing a circulated '69 D Memorial cent with a degree of environmental toning, with the possibility of related staining. Suggest posting larger, full coin photos--high resolution, of course. Thanks.

click the link in my last comment. it should show a sideways view of Lincolns bust and you can clearly see the difference in the topography of the coin. I will upload another pic with a close up of it too

is there anyone I can send it to to get a hands on look at it maybe? its hard to tell in the photos but the raised area is much easier to see through a loop...on camera it just looks 2D

Looking at those last photos, my bet is clear glue.

If you have some acetone handy, it might take it off after a short soak. Not all adhesives come off with it, but many do. Many a discussion on here has been ended by an acetone bath.

Well, it might not be an adhesive or varnish at all, or it may be one that isn't easily affected by acetone, or it might just need a little longer soak. It isn't always instant. A clear coating of some sort is what I think I see from looking at the pics in front of me.

well I will soak it longer but I dont believe it is any kind of coating. if anyone is willing to take a hands on look at it and in the oklahoma area please let me know.
