I hold the stack then shuffle through them like poker chips. The clink of silver is unmistakable, then I look at the edges to make sure I didn't miss anything, then I go through and check the dates and the conditions...

Yeah, I always glanced at the edges first since the rolls were in clear plastic, then went on to looking at each year and mint mark. Great trick.
