I'm considering grading one of my nicer Morgan dollars, an 1878 7tf reverse of 1879. It has very nice luster and fairly nice toning but a heavier ding on the reverse and some light chatter on both sides.

I'm thinking MS62 possibly MS63 and ebay and PCGS have those grades in the $250-$300 range.

Any advice is appreciated since I'm not super comfortable grading yet.

P.S. I think the pictures came out a little flat so I can upload more if it will help.

That sounds right. Not much luster, but I don't see any wear.

these girls are typically sharp and bold. I'm not seeing a typical strike here especially on the eagle. subdued and missing luster on both sides. fields are a little marked up and eye appeal is less than average. imo MS62 and AU58 would not surprise me.

The luster is there in person. It won't blow you away but I think it's enough for a low MS.

MS62 with a shot at 63 seems right. Images can be a challenge when taken through mylar.

I also say MS62. I really don't see any luster in these photographs.

I am sorry to say, but with those new pics it looks like the coin was dipped in Tarn-X. I now have to say MS-Details, cleaned.
