Your medal is a US Centennial Award medal struck by the US Mint for use/presentation during the 1876 Centennial Exposition that was held in Philadelphia, PA.

The rim bump between 10 and 11 o'clock (top photo) is a bit distracting, but the bigger issue to my eyes is the fact that the medal appears to have been cleaned at some point. Its color and bright appearance are not the expected deep mahogany brown color that is typically seen on this nearly 150 year-old medal when its surfaces have not been tampered with.

It does indeed appear to have been cleaned. @commems, how would you value something like this?

For an example that hasn't been cleaned, I would expect to pay at least $150 for a nice example, but I've seen them go for less on ebay. I would value a cleaned example at no more than $50. Many nice examples are available for not much more to pay beyond that level.

We can all watch how the lot highlighted by TNG sorts out to see how badly the current bidders want the medal!
