I think they are just a little flattened. This year had pretty thick devices to begin with. Honestly I have a couple high grade 92s and fresh out of the mint they almost look like a DD cause of the thickness of the letters. Without checking I think there is a DDO for this coin but its minor if I remember and is just extra thickness. It would be hard to tell on this coin cause of the condition. Just my opinion and like I said, I could be wrong.

What FB group and what did he see that made it a DD? Your pics are a little fuzzy to begin with. If your talking about the dark lines through the letters that give it a doubled appearance, that's just die wear that causes the letters to be concaved on the middle. Those areas pick up and hold grime and stuff and darken and the higher points look shinier because of being handled in circulation. I am 100% this isn't a doubled die. Even if it was, the doubling for this coin is so very minor that it wouldnt be worth anything, let alone the price of having it graded. They will only attribute a coin if it's already listed as a known doubled die. This coin doesn't look anything like the only DDO that is attributed. If it were a new one, youd have to get it attributed by someone who the coin grading company's use like John Wexler, which would take time and some money. then after its recognized have it graded. Also, the condition of the coin isn't great as well which would significantly take away from the value if it was a DD. I see you're new to the forum somewhat and welcome. I'm not trying to b.s. you. It's not a DD, and it's not worth grading. I'm just trying to give you a little info. Go to doubleddie.com and click on DD listings and find 1992 D. You'll see what I mean. And while you're there, look through his educational info towards the top of the menu on the minting process and how errors and varieties occur. Knowledge is key in this hobby. Not one guys opinion. I've been in FB groups where the admins have no clue. They just start the group. It doesn't mean they know what they are talking about all the time.
