So I went to the bank and "bought" a box of quarters. I'm not driving right now so I decided to just bus it to another TD bank, not my usual branch because I just bought $100 in Dimes from them already.

When I got home I sifted through the coins and found this black coin and thought it was a steel slug, I looked at the date and it was a 1960 Quarter. I was pretty happy to find that Quarter because it's what I'm searching for- unfortunately it's very tarnished.
When I look at this Silver Quarter, it seems to be in good condition there are no big scratches on the surface that I can see. I can see the strands of hair on the Queen. The sides still have its knurled sharpness to it. The letters are all intact with no scratches. I don't really know how to grade a coin, but I would say it's in great shape, other than the fact that it's tarnished pretty badly.
With all these different Quarters that I came across in the Box, I was thinking about starting a Set. My original idea was to just cherry pick the Silver, but I feel like I'm missing out on putting together a set.
Anyways, that was my coin adventure for today. I'll keep those quarters kicking around for a couple weeks and sort through them. I was thinking of buying a screw/nail cabinet from the hardware store and label each drawer with a date and fill all the dates up. After I read up on how to Grade coins I'll cherry pick the best ones for my personal set.
Oh, and I found $5 in American quarters, that's a little bonus. I really like the
Buffalo nickels and on this 2006 North Dakota Quarter I found, it has two Buffalo grazing in the grass- that's a keeper! If I keep getting Boxes, I might end up with an American Quarter Set someday.
Cheers!
James.
