I was going through a roll of random date/mint 50 cent pieces and found this error on the D mint mark. I was hoping you could provide some insight as I try to learn.

Machine Doubling on the mintmark and the shoulder bottom hit by the reeds on another coin. (Probably a dollar coin?) The marks on the bust look fairly wide on that area.
