Italian Colony. Umberto I 5 Lire (Tallero) 1891 MS65 Prooflike NGC, KM4, Mont-80. Obv. Crowned bust of Umberto I right. Rev. Crowned eagle of Savoy with value. Gold, blue, and russet patinas over bold details with deeply mirrored fields. A superbly original example of this conditionally rare issue. Only two pieces have been certified Prooflike (PR) and this example is the finer of the two.
Ancestor of Lanny MacDonald? That's quite the moustache!!

What a striking coin! And Umberto really does have quite the mustache. I'm not very familiar with 19th century Italian coins, this design is quite beautiful
