I recently picked this coin up and immediately sent it to NGC. First, it is a really beautiful coin and pictures don't do it justice. I think it will definitely come back MS RB/BN. Second, after receiving the coin I noticed doubling in a few of the characters and dots. What do you all think? Even if it is Machine Doubling, she was totally worth sending it to get graded. There is no doubling on the other characters and I'm normally good at telling the difference between the two.

Not a Doubled die, MD. and not gonna get MS IMO. I guess AU-55 BN or AU-58 BN.

There is still a good amount of luster on the coin and it 'cartwheels' well. And there isn't the wear on the highpoints that would push it down to AU, though in my opinion. I have AU-55/58 coins from this era and this is much sharper than them.

Decent strike. I think it may make lower MS, how's the other side of the coin?

Update: The coin was not given the DDO attribution, as it was MD, but we did get a wonderful grade: MS 64 BN. This is a Top Pop grade for the 1888 1 Sen in MSBN. :P
