I am also fairly new (collecting since oct. last year) , but if you have any questions on how to start a collection you can ask me! Some tips: at first you can focus on a specific type of collections (ex. Morgan dollars date-date or pennies or wheat cents date-date) Choose coins that are in good condition and their details aren't worn off. Store coins appropriately: Iron and steel coins can rust. The danger in plastic storage is that if you get PVC (polyvinylchloride) on your coins it's very hard to get off. It's a common additive in plastic. Invest in an album. Some coin flaps can be certified for 0% PVC but if you're not sure, always ask. And always wear gloves! Have a good day! Edited by MichaelSH 02/24/2021 05:40 am Report this Post to the Staff
