at the LCS for $14 US. I read as 1875. How did I do?

I agree with you on it being an 1875, sure looks to be MDCCCLXXV.

From what I could find on values, I don't think it was a steal in the condition it is in but Numista says it has $9 of silver in it, and $14 is not far off from that

I'd say what you paid was fair. This being said, with COVID-tax, these are up to $20 in this condition on ebay.

Price seems fine as others have stated. I am curious whether ED (would you call it pitting) affects price/value here or if the price of silver alone is the real driver?

Not bad it is a nice coin!
I love me the gothics - it is not that bad, I would say its full VG, these coins had notoriously high relief on the shields and thus they can be worn flat by Fine and quite dull at VF.

Plus you have a historic work of art there, they were the culmination of the Victorian obsession with medievalism (You know like all those Victorian mansions with pointed windows).
