Hi all,

Numista lists the Indian 2001 1 Rupee Hyderabad mint as having 2 varieties - Large and small.
Large and small what? Planchet, writing, mint mark? Who knows.
Once again a Numista reviewer has approved an upload of varieties without documentation and/or photos. Sigh.
So are there any knowledgeable CCF members who can shed light on this. I also came across a really good site on Indian modern coins but now can't seem to find it so would be great if anyone can provide the link. Thanks

I would assume that means a large and small mintmark, especially given how the description is written.

That's certainly a possibility although all the coins have the same format except for the large and small. As usual, with one coin and no actual measurements or comparison images I have no idea which it is even if it is the mintmark.

Yes, it's small and large mintmark. The listing in the Krause catalogue and on the NGC database page for it is less ambiguous.

Thanks Sap. Once again I'm indebted. Will see if I can change Numista to reflect this.
