British coins are an even bigger topic than US coins. A good starting point is numista (en.numista.com). If you are looking at recent coins, use United Kingdom as the issuer with the date and you will see most of what is around.
There are numerous specialist sites focusing on specific denominations or periods, but without knowing what you have, it is pointless to start listing those.
If by "collectors coins" you mean the commemorative coins and crowns issued in the last 40 years, you are probably best looking at sold listings on ebay. Many of these have extremely low resale value unless they are in precious metal. Proof year sets are often better. Non-Royal Mint "coins" issued by the likes of Westminster coins and the London Mint are a drug on the market. (Many are not really coins - just commemorative medallions and gewgaws.)
