I noticed extra metal on the edging of the Sacagawea dollar tonight in my 2019-S Silver Proof Set. I assume these metal "flarings" happened from worn dies when the edge letters were added since they occur at the thirds.

Does this add any value to the set?

**Sorry for bad pictures...I'm not busting it out of the proof set case for this.

This looks more like the edge of the capsule.

I saw that picture well after posting my original post.

For Proofs, instead of rolling the edge lettering like with clad coins, they press the letters into the sides with a collar that's separated into thirds, as you showed. On that particular coin, metal "squished" through the gaps in-between the three parts of the collar.

This type of...damage?...isn't really talked about, and I couldn't find a specific name for it. Does anyone know what this is called and if it changes the values of a proof up or down?

it's the line from the 3 segement collar that separates the 3 segments, like the picture shows.
it's on all proof $1 coins.
It's the way it's supposed to be, it changes nothing with the value of the coin.
it's not damage or an error, it's part of the normal process of edge lettering on proof dollar coins.
