

I've not been able to find out anything regarding this merchant Fielding, but a few words regarding the iconography displayed on this advertising Conder token.
The heart shaped device is an East India Company bale mark, which also appeared on the company's coinage struck for Sumatra in 1783 by a private mint located in Bengal. As regards this particular example, note the large die chip.
On the other side, the coat of arms actually has nothing to do with Manchester, but is in fact the blazon of the Worshipful Company of Grocers, a very old and important London guild.
