Hi everyone - I am new here and very happy to be here. I have this pendant and cannot work out what this coin is. I think it is commemorative of some kind. To one side is a four part shield which has been enamelled and has Anno 1936 to the bottom. To the rear it has a Victorian head and the text -- Victoria de Gratia Britanniar Reg Fide .
Can anyone help? 1936 is not a centenary so I was puzzled. Any help gratefully received!

Hello and

This is strange - the obverse looks like a Young Head (1838-87) Victorian threepence, sixpence or shilling but the enameled shield reverse is more like a William IV coin - but the date of 1936 is completely wrong.

Please could you give the exact diameter in millimetres?

It looks to me like the reverse is engraved and enameled. Whoever did it appears to have reengraved the date as well- perhaps it was 1886?

I believe this is a genuine British Victoria Young Head sixpence that has had the reverse filed down, re-engraved and enamelled.

Looking at the picture it does appear to be a normal QV young head sixpence that has had the reverse mostly re-engraved. It's possible that the crown at the top is from the original sixpence. I deskewed the image to compare with a genuine sixpence but there is not enough detail to be sure.
