I'm new to the forums and from NJ. As a youngster I used to collect coins. I still have a few coins and stamps from when my parents passed. Have no clue if any of them have any value, thus the reason for joining!

I just recently ran across a Jefferson nickel that is extremely odd, I would like to post a picture for everyone. Is there a certain forum I should post than in?

thanx for moving this for me. I have to figure out the uploading with the image to be under 300KB.

In any event I'm not sure if the nickel was tampered with or a mistrike (I'm no expert). Jefferson's head looks more like a silhouette and the same is true of Monticello on the reverse.

Possibly a Dryer Coin but we will need clearer CROPPED photos of both sides but am pretty certain it is damage of some sort.

Can you crop that pic and enlarge it, along with a shot of the reverse?

It looks to be extremely worn, but closer & sharper pics will help.

We would really like to see your coin better, would it be possible for you to take closer photos for us, please (both sides)? If you crop your photos to the edges of your coin, you'll find the images will look larger too. Make sure you focus the camera so we can see the coin clearly. If you need help, please ask, we're happy to help!

to the CCF! We'd love to see other coins you may have too!
