They were at opposite ends of a rather grimy bag of world coins I was going through. I usually don't see many Australia coins in these, but I got 3 '43 pennies, and these were 2 of 'em.

Interesting, anyone care to guess which is the later strike?

The one on the left seems to have a more prominent crack indicating it was later, however the one on the right has a more filled . after Y indicating it was later.

... now get yourself a "kip", and you can start a "two-up school" in time for ANZAC Day.

Now that could use a bit of a translation....
I'm still very amazed you have 3 of the same die--that's a large mintage (33M), so I might guess 100+ reverse dies.

What!! You guys never heard of two-up?

Two-up is a traditional Aussie game of chance. You need a kip and two pennies. A kip is a piece of wood, similar size and shape as a school ruler with two indentations at the end for the pennies to sit. One sits obverse up, one reverse up. You then bet on how the coins will land and then flick them into the air.

Thanks Sean, my kids would love that! But.. err.. not with my Australia's I think we'll find some nice Lincoln zincs for that (smaller indentations too)!
