Curious to know what this spot might be and if I should expect that it will grow.

If I tilt the coin into the light I do not see any difference in the coin's finish in that area.

Huh, that's funny! I have a mint set that has the same thing! Must be a mistake made in the mint.

Sometimes they are spots, other times they are carbon spots. But leave then alone as proof coins scratch/scuff and look tampered with with the lightest affect attempted on them. If they look real bad, just spend them.
