One of the hardest dates to identify is the 1970S small date, in my opinion.
The last image is that of the 1970S Large date.
Please help and thanks as always.

I was told that the curl on the number nine should be directed t0ward the east, on the small date.

Yes you are wright. Me I give the easer way to see.

In Large Date the curl of 9 point 45 degree exact to the end of numeral 7

In Small Date the curl point to the middle of the 7

PS: Looking for the point (direction) of the 9 curl is easy to see when you have a coin in BU, AU and high. On the others sometimes is hard due to the circulation.
