1965 (No Mint Found) Quater. Mint Damage?

Coinhunter93 New Member United States 8 Posts	Posted 03/24/2021 04:22 am I found this quarter interesting because, George's eye is not there, and You can really only see Liber of Liberty. Also has some damage that I would call mint damage of some sort. Ive been looking up coins to compare it to which is how I came to believe the marks on this quarter are all mint errors. But thank Use the "Free Image Optimiser" provided for cropping or rotating your photos. Not only will this increase the size of your photo but it saves Web space as well. As for the mint mark, no US coins minted in 1965, 1966 or 1967 (any denomination) have mint marks. Proof production was also halted during this period. This was part of the Coinage Act of 1965 when the mints went to Clad Coinage. It was enacted because of a coin shortage to try and limit coin collecting. Legislation was considered to make hording or collection coins illegal, but it failed to pass. Mint marks were added back to US coins in 1968.
