Hello and welcome.

It's not a coin (coins almost never have exactly the same design on both sides).

The script and language appear to be Japanese.

Whenever you find a "Japanese token" with the same design on both sides, it almost always turns out to be a "pachinko token". Pachinko is a peculiarly Japanese form of gambling, kind of a cross between a pinball machine and a Western-style slot machine. Pachinko parlours are one of the few forms of legal gambling in Japan, and have been very popular there for many decades.
