How Would You Grade This 1888 Morgan?

Well, I too agreed that it was AU based upon the lack of wear to the wingtips of the eagle as well as how sharp the lettering appears. Honestly, there is even luster on the flat parts above the ear (sorry that this is hard to see in the scan). So I guess this raises the question of just how flat can a flat strike be. b.j. New Member United States 19 Posts	Posted 12/24/2008 10:21 pm Using a scan to grade is difficult at best. It becomes hard to determine weak strike vs. wear. If it is a weak strike, I agree with AU. Otherwise, XF. Report this Post to the Staff
