I know improperly annealed planchants are a very difficult thing to determine unless it is blatantly obvious there has been environmental damage or tampering with the coin. Hoping this is the real thing but just not sure. There is copper showing on this one, has luster, and the edge is clearly showing the clad layers which from my research I think is a major factor. It weighs exactly 2.28 grams during numerous attempts. The reverse has a pretty cool and nice die chip on the flame too. Just looking for some confirmation and thoughts on this being an improperly annealed dime. Thanks!

Environmental staining/tarnishing/damage, post mint. Looks as if it was rubbed with gun oil, has the same bluish-gray colourization, but could be from a large number of staining causes.

Ok. Thank you for the replies on it not being a sintered planchant. I guess the well defined color of the clad edge was my main deciding factor in thinking that this may actually be one. At least it does have a nice die chip on the tip of the flame so its got that going for it.... haha. To answer your question 1Park2P, I only use my iPhone to take the the obverse and reverse pics and then any close up pics I take and I place a 10x triplet loupe (I like the ones made by Belomo and no I'm not a rep nor do I sell them...lol) up to the camera lens and take the photo. It's a pretty generic setup but it works for me. Thanks for asking and welcome to CCF!
