TheDeductible Pillar of the Community Canada 851 Posts	Posted 03/30/2021 12:19 pm I'd be tempted to indicate VF-30 on the holder. I think ICCS would grade it VF-20, but I think ICCS's grading of NL Victorian fifty cent pieces is lost and confused. I've seen ICCS flips with 50 cent pieces in them and you could literally take a F15 and switch it with the same coin in a VF-30 flip and no one would be the wiser. ICCS grading of NL 50c between F-15 and VF-30 is all over the place. This is especially true when it comes to the gap between F-15 and VF-20 where it seems they have no real rule of thumb to distinguish between the two. Cheers Report this Post to the Staff

Silver101 Pillar of the Community Canada 1081 Posts	Posted 03/30/2021 1:39 pm It's quite a nice-looking coin.... very balanced on the obverse for example. In a sense maybe it doesn't matter so much. The 50 cent obverse is a real show-stopper imo, though on some of them the braid is so worn that it just looks weird. This one is pretty solid even if it isn't quite at VF-35....
