Hi Happy Easter to all,

I saw this coin in a shop, I stop short of buying because of irregularities. Someone told me it could be die chip. Could someone help confirm? And if it so, does it add value to the coin?

See the bob near the "S" of CENTS. The rim is also strange near the "N" of SETTLEMENTS, six o'clock position below "LL" and "H" of HALF. Are those Die Cud? And the reed on the edge adjacent to above few positions looks like someone manually cut them out (Unfortunately I did not take a picture).

Somebody please enlighten me.

I will let someone else comment on the die chip.

For the anomalies at the edge, I think these are all damage (not Cuds), since you can see evidence of them on both sides of the coin.
But you should wait for an expert on errors for a definitive answer.
