UK 5p Coin Varieties - Are These Known?

While bagging 5p coins today, I noticed that some were thinner than others.

Thinner dates so far are:
1990, 1991, 1992, 2008, 2010.

I've noticed, too, that thicker (normal size?) 5p coins have at least two
different milling patterns.

Have these differences been noticed before?
If so, where can I find out more?
