This coin is well worn and I'm not even 100% sure it's 1947 but it is my best guess. I could use thoughts and opinions to determine if it is an RPM or just damage. There are numerous RPMS for this date. TY

I check on the PCGS site and some of the mintmark were clear, and some were showing damaged punch issues. Some where in between. So the mark diagonally behind the tops of the mintmark are mintmark punch damage. The area on the lower serif looks like a contact mark. On V.V, they have 6 listings:

3-6 are showing the damaged mintmark punches. The RPMs on them is not incuding these damaged punch issue. It was noticed, but the information wasn't mentioned on the site.
So I feel that you coin is not a RPM. If is just showing the damage punch issue. (which other denominations may also be showing that are/aren't RPMs)

I think it Looks like 1947-S S/D FS-501:

So it is a S mint mark over a D mint mark instead of a D/D. If it is what I think it is, very cool find! Been attempting to cherry-pick one of these in higher grade but no luck. Can you provide an image of the mint mark that is not tilted and maybe a little further away? Thanks!

I'll check this later when I'm on my computer. Are we really sure this is a 1947? The date area looks like it took a hit.

Pretty sure it's FS-501. Does looks like a 1947-S that took a hit to the date but I'm pretty confident it's the over mintmark. Cool find!
