I saw this Daniel Carr design several months ago, and loved it.

While the actual Nevada State Quarter is attractive, I feel this Carr design would have been one of the best State Quarter designs, if not the very best.

Thanks Daniel, I should have researched more.
State outlines are not liked so much but the terrain topography idea is great.

Welcome dgoose50 to our little haven on the internet. While some folks may frown upon a king or queen there are others who are absolutely fed up with DEAD Presidents! After a lifetime of having presidents shoved down our throats many American collectors have and are turning to world coins to add some variety to their collections and lo and behold they have found not only beautiful designs, with eye appeal, they have also discovered something WE currently don't have in the U.S. and that would be LOW mintages on many coins throughout the world. Seeing how our hobby is literally based on supply and demand you can guess whos coins are rising in value the fastest? The United States Mint does EVERYTHING in its power to control the secondary market while other nations are doing just the opposite by enhancing the secondary market with low mintages. This quarantees the mint of a quick sellout and the quicker the better. Many foreign (Darkside) coins, if you are fortunate to get them at initial release, bring huge increases within weeks of that release. Others may take a year but I can almost guarantee you the difference between, lets say Canada and Australia compared to the U.S. coins is like night and day! Don't get me wrong as I collect most U.S. offerings and always will but after taking a long hard look at some of the history, culture and pride some of the other countries of the world is striking I found that I was not only making wise decisions concerning the future of my hobby but was also learning a tremendous amount of history that I was never taught in school! (Which was a long long time ago). Thanks to the Euro release in 2002 I found a whole new world of coins and have had a rebirth of coin collecting like I have never experienced in my life!

Old Dan are there really DARKSIDERS lurking here? Imagine that!

Im sure that there are many other countries with beautiful designs and types;unfortunately I am ignorant to them.I will try to be more openminded in the future. Thanks for helping to open my eyes to the dark side.

dgoose50 you are not ignorant to anything? One who seeks answers can only be looked upon as a wise man! I have always said there are no stupid questions only stupid people who don't ask questions!
Until the internet arrived many of us did not have a clue about foreign coins so join the crowd and take the time to have a look. Lots to learn and enjoy, as many Americans are finally finding out, and the opportunities are vast! Plenty of fine folks right here on this forum to help you out!
