1891 Seated Liberty Dime. Weight 1.50 Grams. PSD Or Tapered Planchet?

Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5239 Posts	Posted 04/11/2021 5:30 pm I have a friend of mine that gave me this coin and it is an 1891 Seated Liberty dime and weighs 1.50 grams. I am at the point to think this is all environmental damage or intentional but part of me thinks that it may be a tapered planchet. Thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

And it looks like it sat in some acid or another environment that tore apart the surface Possible thought, could be a field coin. Perhaps a farmer's tool broke off the edge and time in the ground ate away the surface. Not certain Report this Post to the Staff

I agree that it is possible it had been buried at some point. Maybe acid damaged as well. Report this Post to the Staff
